The Cadet is a wooden, two place, retractable gear aircraft designed in the late 1930's. Approximately 400 of these airplanes were built from 1938 until the spring of 1942. Less than 30 examples remain in flying condition worldwide, most in the USA. NC41705 is one of the last built, first flying in January of 1942.y.

Al Mooney designed the Culver Cadet. Mooney was chief engineer for Culver aircraft before forming Mooney aircraft. The cadet shows its Mooney heritage in the mechanical retractable landing gear, the low drag design and the highly efficient elliptical wing. culver03

The Cadet is a rare aircraft that draws attention everywhere it goes, but is still an economical daily flyer. At low power settings the cadet will use less than 5 gallons per hour.
